Witch in the wind Cathedral window
Witches have the ability to perform spells and to carry out magic in multiple forms. Spells can be created using tools, a set of words, or verses that are often cast in Latin. They can also contain herbs and roots for remedies and protection.
This piece was hand painted in vitreous enamel, inspired by a photograph taken by Anne Brigman entitled ‘The Breeze’ 1910.
The window scene is cut from copper and has numerous layers of enamel glass that is kiln fired at 800 degrees celsius. The witch is hand painted and fired several times to give a glossy finish. The setting is made from sterling silver and comes with a 45cm /18″ sterling chain.
The pendant measures approx 50mm (2 1/4″) high and 24mm (1″) wide.
