Cathedral Window Graveyard

We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.

We like to think we’re objective and see the world as it is, in reality we see the world through our own experience. We project upbringing, conditioning, hurt, love, trauma, and everything else we’ve experienced into our perception.

My new collection is about perceptions and how we view the world. One person might experience a cemetery as scary and morbid, another might view it as a place of peace.

Near where I grew up was an abandoned church that looked like something out of a horror movie. Yet in the daylight the graveyard was full of wildflowers, butterflies, lizards and beauty.

The window scene is cut from copper and has numerous layers of enamel glass that is kiln fired at 800 degrees celsius. The graveyard is hand painted and fired several times to give a glossy finish. The setting is made from sterling silver and comes with a 45cm /18″ sterling chain.

The pendant measures approx 50mm (2 1/4″) high and 24mm (1″) wide.
